Irrigation of ears?

Has anyone had their ears cleaned out? Does it hurt? My left ear is clogged really bad and nothing is helping. I have a doc appt for tomorrow but I am so nervous shes going to want to do this. I have heard it hurts a lot..anyone?

I dont know personaly but my 7 year old needs to have his ears cleaned out at least 3 times a year and he cries but im not sure it actully hurts or he donesnt like be help down (he is a squrima)/

I have had wax cleaned out of my ears at the ENT, while it is not the most pleasant thing in the world, it is not too bad- just sounds weird.The machine makes a sucking noise. HTH( I rather have this done then go to the dentist if that helps)

Doesn't hurt at all - just put some Debrox in a few times until then and you'll be all set! It's amazing the difference it makes!

I had it done once when I was a kid and it was just a complete and total relief. It was like finally getting relief for an itch. My mom thought I was crazy because she thought it would be painful.

I try to get it done once a year. When I was younger, the dr. used warm water and it felt so good. Now, the ENT I go to uses this needle vaccuum which is scary to look at, scary sounding and you feel like he's going to vaccuum your brain out through your ear. It screeches, but when he's done, I hear speakers I didn't think my car had!
