IVF..Part 3 UPDATE 6/13 XFER DONE!!!
I am have not been keeping an online IVF Diary..perhaps I should have b/c everyone got a BFP!
6/2/09
Dr. B was successful in suppressing my lead follicle problem with Lupron during my luteal phase. All of the follicles look around the same size now..between 11-12, which is great. It looks like there may be 10-11 in total. I was hoping for more, given the large amount of gonal f, but I'll take what I can get, it's quality, not quantity.
We are looking at retrieval this weekend, most likely Sunday. I go back on Thursday afternoon for a follie check to see where I am. Started on the cipro today, in addition to all the other fun stuff I'm taking!
6/4/09 - Sono #2 - Follies are looking good - 12 total between 10 -14. Dr. B said they can all catch up to a good retrieval size. I am happy that they are all within a good range and no out of control lead follicle. I go back on Saturday for another scan to see where we are at.
6/6/09 - Sono#3 - follies still looking good - one is getting a little bigger than the others, but 2 more popped up.
By the way..my ovaries are killing me! LOL.
6/8/09 - Saw Dr. B today..all the follies are between 18-22, which he is thrilled with, he said I had a great cycle. Retrieval is Wednesday at 2pm!!! I have to be there at 1pm. Dr. B said probably Day 3 transfer, which would be Saturday, but it will be determined by Friday.
I am nervous and excited at the same time. I have so much faith in Dr. B and this cycle. I am praying so hard for faith and patience! If you could all send me your prayers on Wednesday I would appreciate it!
6/10/09 - it was an interesting morning..we had to go to 3 parking garages b/c the closest ones were full! We got in there and they get me set up in the OR and who pops in - Dr. Braverman!! I was so surprised, he told me he isn't usually in the NYC office, but had to be there for something so he thought he's stop in and see me. Then the nice man gave me some sedation and Dr. T. got out 9 eggs! I was hoping for more, but Dr. B keeps saying quality not quantity.
Here's praying for excellent fertilization!
6/11/09 - Fertilization report - Dr. B just called - of the 9, 5 were mature, an M2, 2 were an M1 (not mature) and 2 were not good at all. Of the 5, definitely 4 are fertilizing and possibly the 5th. Of the 4, 2 are cleaving early, which he said is excellent, 2 are not, but he said that doesn't mean they aren't good. More info to come on those tomorrow.
Transfer on Saturday.
6/12/09- Sandra just called, I am set up for 10:45am transfer tomorrow. I have to be at the office at 10am. I AM SO EXCITED.
My Aunt always tells me to get something you never had you have to do something you never did. Well, I can honestly say I am going into this with no fear, no negative feelings, no stress. Something in me changed yesterday morning, I have such peace and faith now. My prayers to God for a healthy child.
6/13/09 - Transfer is done. We put back 3 - 1 was an 8 and the other 2 a 7, which Dr. B said was fabulous, his words, not mine. THe sono girl said my lining was beautiful. Ok, then!!! A little crazy thing happened right before the transfer, I was all set up to go..spread eagle on the table, etc. and the embryologist came in and said, ok Barbara (My Last Name). I said "Uh, No...Patricia (Last Name). I thought Dr. T was going to have a stroke. They had to go back to the lab and double check. The embryologist read something wrong. I had a small freak out. But all was well, I asked Dr. T to use some Gorilla Glue to get one of those embryos to stick, he just laughed at me.
The other 2 are still growing, one is a 6 the other a 5. We decided to let them keep going and if they go to blast we will freeze them, just in case. Dr. B recommended this.
I am praying to God to please let one stick so i can have a healthy baby.

Sounds terrific so far! It's nice and reassuring when you get the first sign that the "new" doctor has done something different that's actually working. Are you doing PGD this time?

Probably not doing PGD. I know my insurance covers it, but I am not going to get 15+ eggs..it will be more like ten. And then we will see how many fertilize and grow appropriately.
It depends on which day you ask me. Somtimes I want to because I am afraid of what happened last year. But then I feel like I should just have faith and go forward. I think at this point I am more afraid of losing embryo that might be good to PGD.

Just FYI, during my sonos it looked at if I had only gotten 8-9 eggs. It ended up actually being 15. You may get lucky!
