Best shampoo/conditioner for red hair?
A few months ago, I decided to go bright red with platinum highlights and I love it, but the red fades soooo fast and turns a funky-in-a-bad-way orange color. I've been using Wella Color Preserve and it isn't preserving much. I also use Artec Kiwi hairspray with sunscreen in it. Any recommendations? TIA

Re: Best shampoo/conditioner for red hair?
The Pantene stuff for red dyed hair is supposed to be top-rated. I have used it in the past and it is ok. Right now I am using, I think, John Frieda for red dyed hair and I like it too.
Red just fades so fast... it gets so expensive, so I started doing it at home! Although now it is more red-brown than red, but I am saving a ton of money.

tresemme makes a red shampoo and conditioner - crazy hard to find - but usually CVS has it
It keeps the color nice for thr 6 weeks I wait in between touch ups

I like Redken colorstay I think it's called
Red bottle
I feel like with your hairstyle you can't use anything that deposits a bit of red color because of your blonde highlights.

I found the Artec shampoos work great for keeping hair full of color.. I used Cherry Bark when my hair was really red

Re: Best shampoo/conditioner for red hair?
I've been using John Frieda's Radiant Red (I think that's the name) and it's OK.
I've found the best thing to keep red in is to wash in pretty cool water. I like to take steamy showers so sometimes I slack. My hair is fading but it's not getting that washed-out bronze-y look. I also use a deep conditioner every other day - switch between Aussie deeeeep 3 minute miracle and It's a 10.
