Your Dr prob has the best answer for YOU, but I think moderation is key with this stuff
I didn't have any cold cuts early on, but now (at 35 weeks), I've had two subway sandwiches (spicy italian) in the past few weeks.

Re: How bad is turkey?
Yeah, the more I thought about it my Dr said no cold cuts at all, not hot dogs or kielbasa. I decided on a chicken cutlet sandwich.

Re: How bad is turkey?
I have it once a week, but from a reputable place. I wouldn't buy it from anywhere. My doc wasn't against me eating turkey- he just told me not to overdue it.

It has nothing to do with "moderation" cold cuts (unheated) can harbor a bacteria called listeria which could be fatal to a fetus.
I stayed away from cold cuts when I was pregnant. If I did NEED to have a sandwich, I made sure the cold cuts were heated up first.

That's exactly what my dr and nurse told me. Although they said not even heated is okay, so thats why I feel so bad even thinking turkey lol. Everyone's different though, dr's too!

Re: How bad is turkey?
I think you can have the packaged ones.
I'm 11 weeks and I caved twice into having coldcuts. I'm trying my hardest not to though
