For those who have an upstairs

How many vacums do you have and where do you store them?

Right now I have 1 vacumn and it's in the laundry room on the main floor.

I'm thinking of investing in another vacumn in the near future for upstairs and storing it in the linen closet.

Is this what a lot of people do?

Re: For those who an upstairs

I have one on each floor.

We keep our good vacuum (Bissell Heatlthy home) in our hall closet upstairs. The 2nd floor is the floor with the wtw carpeting.

The main floor which is hardwood I have a Shark cordless vac and a handheld vacuum. When I deep clean, I carry (really DH does) the vaccuum downstairs. I keep it in an office since it needs to be recharged. I need to put an outlet in my linen closet.

The basement I have an old upright. My basement is 2/3rds finished. Again, stored in a closet.

Re: For those who an upstairs

We have one upright - it's stored on our main floor, in our coat closet.

I plan on getting a canister vac for our upstairs - I'll store it in my linen closet.

When we eventually do the basement - I'll probably get an upright for down there as well.

So eventually - we'll have one on each floor.

One for each floor. Plus, shop vacs downstairs in the unfinished basement/workshop.

Re: For those who an upstairs

If I have the vacuum up in my bedroom closet, then I vacuum upstairs first, then bring it downstairs to vacuum. Then it usually sits in my den until the next time I vacuum (bc my downstairs closet still has moving boxes in it). So I vacuum downstairs, then bring it upstairs where it gets stored in the closet again.

Re: For those who have an upstairs

We have a dyson and just lug it around the house when we're vacuuming. My FIL got us a roomba but I hate it - I have no idea where it is.

Same here, and we have a hand vac for quick clean ups but one vacuum for each floor is a great idea!

Re: For those who have an upstairs

I have one vacuum and I keep it in the front hall closet. My DH hates it there and sometimes puts it in the basement which really pizzes me off. I wish I had a better spot for it. I do have an Electrolux stick vacuum that is upstairs but it stopped working all of a sudden and never cleaned as well as my reg vacuum anyway.

Re: For those who have an upstairs

We have one....The guest room is the only room on the 1st floor that has carpet, so we usually keep the vacuum upstairs and bring it down when we need it.

Re: For those who have an upstairs

One Hoover on the main floor, and a dirt devil curve, and swiffers.
I drag the Hoover to the bsmnt or shopvac in from the garage if needed.

Re: For those who have an upstairs

At first I thought it was silly to want two vacuums (one for each floor) but really I love it. I store one in my attic space (upstairs) and a large hall closet downstairs.

We have one that we carry up & down the stairs - it's an Oreck so it's light as a feather.
