Don't worry about it!!! My son was about 6 months old with his legs hanging over the side of the bassinet!!! Slightly exaggerating, but not really. It's fine! Chat Icon

We transitioned at just over 6 months...I had a really hard time too. Chat Icon Poor guy was squished in there but I kept making excuses to keep him with us. Chat Icon

If it makes you feel any better, he loves his crib and is doing great in it!

My DD too...She's not complaining, so I'm not complaining Chat Icon ( Especially given the fact that she wakes up at night still, its easier !)

Bassinets I've seen only hold up to 15 pounds. Are you using a bassinet that hold more than that? If so please let me know I would like to purchase a bassinet that can hold more than 15 pounds.

I moved DD into her crib last weekend. I really didn't want to, but she likes to sprawl out when she sleeps so the bassinet was a bit to small for that. I didn't sleep very much the first couple of nights Chat Icon , kept checking the video monitor to make sure she was ok. She seems to love it Chat Icon .

DD was 4 months when we moved her into the crib from the co-sleeper.

It was definitely hard at 1st!

get yourself a video monitor and you will feel much better about it

I have an old school bassinet that is huge, that can def. hold up to more than 15lbs (it goes way back, my entire family has slept in it)

We moved my son out at almost 3 months and he was def over 15lbs at that point.

DD was about 9- 10 weeks old when we moved her to the crib.....I was a mess but she loves it....she has been sleeping through the night since putting her in the crib. She's now 13 weeks and LOVING her crib...she was running out of room in her bassinet...she loves to move and couldn't in her bassinet. I was a MESS at first but I just watched the video monitor all night! lol good luck!

I transitioned DD just as she was turning 6 months. It was very very hard. I was sad, and she was miserable. We had some brutal days and I was forced to try CIO. She cried for hours and hours. The past 2-3 days have been much better! It's a hard transition, but has to be done. She was in a co-sleeper and literally would turn sideways with her legs hanging out. At first I kept the co-sleeper in my room and tried putting her in the crib, but kept chickening out and bringing her back in. The only way to do it for me was to pack up the co-sleeper and not give myself the option.

We moved DS out of the bassinet when he was 4 months old ONLY because my SIL had a baby and needed to use the bassinet. I was sooo sad. I loved having him next to me. He was fine moving to the crib...it was me!

***raising hand****
that was ME!

My doc was the only who had asked if she was in her crib and I said, No Chat Icon

He basically said, you just need to do it and you will be ok.
That nite I let it happen.
She slept through the nite and so did I!

Very hard transition for me too.

No worries! My son is also 5 months and we moved him to his crib last month as his legs were literally hanging over the side by morning. But don't feel bad, I wheeled his crib into my room and put it in the bassinets place. My DH was like WTH are you doing as I struggled to get it through the doorway. Chat Icon Chat Icon Not sure when I will wheel it back into his room.

I'm with you! We had DS in our room just up until recently, he's 7 months. We had one of those large cradles though, and he still fits in it. I asked DH if he could move the crib into our room, half kidding with him but I was almost considering it. I was not ready to have him move into his own room.
