IVF'ers - what would you do?

I mentioned today that my mom is sick overseas. She is in good care at the hospital but at 76 with pnumonia (sp) she will need a few weeks recovery once she gets out of the hospital

My sister booked a trip home for next week, when my mom gets out of the hospital. I had said I could got the following week, but now the dr office says I can only go from 3/24 to 3/30 because of tests

Should I
- Go for 5 days while on Lupron
- cancel the IVF
- not go and do IVF

My concerns are
- IVF is expensive and emotional and I feel I need to give it 100 %
- if I go and do IVF and it doesn;t work, I'll feel like its because I went on a long flight (7 hours) twice in 5 days
- will I regret not puttin gIVF on hold for my mom?

The part thats pushing me forward is that I think my mom will tell me she will be OK, but I think she will just say it. The other thing is that I thought I was doing IVF in November, and every month its another reason to postpone. IS it selfish to want to do what I want to do ?

Do whatever makes you feel comfortable...

I'm facing a similiar situation with my grandparents, and I've decided to go...IVF for me can wait another few weeks.

I'm not familiar with the long lupron protocol...but, I don't think you would be put off more than a month. If you really want to go, I would go. IVF can wait a month.

Re: IVF'ers - what would you do?

this is just my opinion but I would wait. To me family is important and plus I would want to go into IVF with a clear head and heart

Good luck to you and much baby dust!

For me i would wait, i would not want extra stress during the cycle. I hope your mom gets better soon.
