How do we reclaim our bed??!!??! HELP!!!

DD is 13 months and will NOT sleep/nap in her crib anymore....As soon as I get anywhere near her crib (even if she's sleeping)...she wakes up screaming and uncontrollable crying! I give up!!

I can't get anything done during the day cause I have to be next to her when she naps and at night DH and I have no "us" time cause she won't sleep unless we are in bed with her!!

HELP!!!

Let her cry. She will have to just learn. Im anti-kid in bed with parents. It works for some and thats great. I would just let her CIO in there. She will get the hint. JMHO of course.

I agree. My parents never let us in the bed with them, EVER. Because of this, we always slept in our rooms. I'm very against kids in the bed with parents. JMO. I know some like this.

I know! I'm against it too...just one night because of her teething turned into what seems like forever now! I know the only thing to do is let her cry it out!! Just breaks my heart, ya know! I feel evil!

Ok I'll admit it I am one of "those" parents Chat Icon My ds has never slept in his crib. He never liked it and I prefer attached parenting techniques to cio (jmho). We bought him a big boy bed and a bed rail for his first birthday. He goes to bed at 8pm in his bed and dh and I get mommy daddy time. If he wakes he cries and one of us goes to sooth him. He has never woke up and climbed out and has not fallen out either.
We are hoping #2 will like the crib.

My children always start out in their beds, but at some point throughout the night, we end up with at least 1, sometimes 2, and very occasionally all 3 of them in bed with us. It does not bother me at all though, I am of the thought that they are only little once, and at some point, they are NOT going to want to snuggle and cuddle with us anymore.

Just my opinion though, you have to do what works for YOU.

Same here. I really think the only thing you can do at this point is let her cry. Chat Icon

She is probably just going to cry and cry...mine never slept in our bed, but wanted me at all times.

he is in his bed now, sleeps through the night...but we started by having his mattress on our bedroom floor.

I would try that, then transistion her to her bed. Even if she falls asleep in your room on the floor and you transport her into her room.

good luck!

I agree. DD started this around the same age - 13 or 14 mths...a few nights of CIO (cry it out) and she slept through thr nights in her own crib, thank goodness. best thing I ever did.Chat Icon
