Just a hello

I wanted to finally post as I have been lurking on TTC for 2 weeks now. I will not "officially" be TTC until Oct.
For those who don't know, my son was born on April 2nd at the end of my 25th week weighing 1 lb 11 oz. I had PROM from an amnio at the end of my 19th week. His lungs were underdeveloped from the loss of fluid and he survived 26 days.

I found out recently since I had an emergency "classic c-section" that I need to give my body 6 months to properly heal before trying again. I have read (will be checking with a Dr. next week) that if I ever become PG again, I will not carry to 40 weeks. I do want to check how long I would go first.

But I wanted to let you all know who I am so you know my story when I post. For right now it will be to support you all and wish so much baby dust and happy wishes to all!

Im so glad your here and joining us. Theres tons of women waiting to TTC and here. Your very brave for sharing your story.

You know I went through something similair, although my daughter was stillborn, and I truly feel we will both be blessed someday soon for what we have endured.

On the medical end, I think you may be
pre-term in the future...but you cant and shouldnt rule out a perfectly healthy 9 months either! BUT knowing what you have gone through, your Dr's can be MUCH better prepared for it. I have discussed taking antibiotics at different times during the 9 months when I get PG to avoid infection
( which caused my pre-term labor).

But I am so happy to see you post here and am looking forward to when you are "official" on this board.

I think I speak for all of us here by saying we admire you and your strength so very much. This is really a special board and there are such wonderful ladies here. I appreciate you being a part of this community and for you taking the time to support US!

Of course the baby dust you are sending our way is appreciate by all But we definitely cannot wait to be able to send all that BD right back at you

Thanks for the welcome ladies! And bear with me when I ask what some of the terms mean! Donna has given me a quick overview, but I still feel a little lost with the terminology of TTC!

Hi Donna -- I read about your situation and my prayers go out to you and DH. You are very strong!!

I too am here on TTC although I have to wait 3 cycles after my D&C -- which was 6 weeks ago and still no AF -- so, I read, I learn, I share with all these wonderful ladies their trials, tribulations, and yes - joy. And wait...and wait... and wait... to try again.

So welcome and ask any questions you want -- that's how I learned anything, by reading everyone's questions!!

Welcome Donna. I truly wish that you didn't have to join this board, but offer my support & prayers throughout this difficult time.

As for TTC after a c-section, my mom had an emergency c-section when she had my brother, and she got pregnant again 3 short months later with me. I would definitely double check with your doctor on when you can try again. Most of the time, the doctors speculate to wait a little longer to give the heart time to heal... not necessarily physically. Actually, if anything, I've heard that it's easier to get pg during the 1st 2 cycles after a m/c or birth.

As for not being able to carry full term, there are many things that your doctor can do to avoid early labor. For instance, what Donna mentioned... antibiotics to ward off infection. Also, women with incompetent cervixes can be given a stitch (called cerclage) early in the pregnancy to keep the cervix closed until the 9th month.

Either way, we'll be here for you regardless if you can try now, later, or in the future. Feel free to ask anything & everything you like.

I think of you often and your situation. You are by far the strongest woman on the liweddings or lifamilies board.
