Pediatricians in Queens
Hi Ladies, I'm a mom to be, due in August. Just wondering if there is anyone from the queens area that could recommend a good pediatrician, or any to stay away from. I'm in maspeth but anything in middle village, ridgewood, glendale, greenpoint or anything else closer.
Are your pediatricians within a certain radius to where you live just in case?
TIA

Re: Pediatricians in Queens
I live in Middle Village and my DD ped is Dr. Lori Iurato. She's on 71st St in Maspeth. The entrance to the office is actually on Eliot Ave. The phone # is (718) 446-7562 There's also another ped there, Dr. Savitt, but I haven't met yet. I actually just switched to Dr. Lori because DD ped left the office we were going to and I didn't like the new ped. Dr. Lori is really nice, very through and will call you back when you have a question. There's always a doctor in the office.

me too. I think her brother is good, but he is much more 'rushed' and in the beginning when DS was a newborn I was put off. I found Dr. Ann Marie much more maternal and calm. Dr. Robert is great too though, just spins like a top most days and you have to actually tell him to stop and listen, otherwise you miss your opportunity.
I will say they both always get on the phone ASAP when you call. I've never had to wait for a 'callback" - they got on the phone after a few minutes on hold or their after hours is a cell phone they share 24/7 duty on, which is great.
ETA: DS had a medical issue last summer and the brother was wonderful --- calling us at home and checking in and following up almost daily - so it's not that I don't think he's excellent, I just think he's rushed on a daily basis. He also works FT, while his sister works PT.

When I was looking for a new ped for Shaylie, Dr. Yu was my first choice but when I called to schedule an appointment, the receptionist told me that they weren't taking any new patients. That was the middle of May.
