Ok- just certified my 26th week of
unemployment. Please reassure me that it will automatically extend for the 33 weeks and I do not have to do anything.
Forgive me, but I am a bit paranoid lol.

I am sure you will be fine!! You are in NYS? My DH friend has been unemployed for well over a year now and keeps getting it extended. He really from what we can see has made no efforts either to find a new job, but that's another thread!!

I am in NYS.
I do believe with the last 13 weeks they are offering there is a catch. You have to show proof that you have been actively looking, so your friend may have to put forth an effort lol.

I think you are fine. From what I heard no one has to do anything it will automatically get extended unless you otherwise let them know you found something. I think the extension that Obama did is good until the end of December so no worries.

Don't you have to show proof you are looking and putting forth an effort to receive any unemployment at all (not just the extension)?

Yes, but I was reading somewhere that the last 13 weeks were being treated a bit differently.
