Tara - FM me what streets you're looking on. My DH is a landscaper and has worked in that area for about 20 years....knows it like the back of his hand.
Definitely came in handy when we were house hunting. Let me know

Re: Does anyone live in/around Huntington Village?
Hi, Thanks!
We don't have a particular house in mind yet. Our house will be up for sale as of January 1st, and when it sells, I want to be fully prepared.
Our #1 choice is Northport, but, I don't want to limit myself. I have always loved Northport and Huntington Village, but I heard that Northport had the best schools.
I love that Huntington has a main street, has houses with character and is close to beaches. I just don't know anyone who has ever been in the school system.
When the time comes, I'm sure that I will have a ton of questions for you and Barbara.
Thanks again

Re: Does anyone live in/around Huntington Village?
We lived right on the edge of town when we first were married and my main gripe was getting to a parkway to get to work. It was a good 15-20 minutes just to get to a parkway, whether it was NSP or SOB. It is definitely something I think about should we move back to Suffolk.

Re: Does anyone live in/around Huntington Village?
I live in Huntington, but we're in the Harborfields SD. Have you considered Centerport and Greenlawn for your search?
Although we're not within walking distance to Hunt Village, we're a stones throw away (we're on the Centerport/Greenlawn border). Greenlawn has a great little town. And I have to say, the Harborfields community is really tight. Many of the people in our neighborhood graduated from HF and made it a point to raise their children here too.

There is nothing bad about Hunt. Village. We purchased 2 homes there in the past 10 years and doubled our money when we sold them both.. Great place to raise children.. shopping is fantastic.

I live close to the village and it's all right. It just depends on where you live. I live neat the bad part, but in a good neighborhood. I love the village itself!

Re: Does anyone live in/around Huntington Village?
I live right outside the village and love it!! Although we are not Harborfields, we are Huntington HS (not whitman, which people say is "worse") I find that if you raise your children right, no matter what school district they are in, they'll be fine. I mean of course if it was a dangerous school, I'd feel differently but there isn't a scary, horrible school in Huntington while Ideally I would like my children to go to Harborfields, I'm also ok with staying where we are b/c I LOVE being so close to the water, walking distance to the village, our neighbordhood is great!
