tick....should i test it?

My babysitter called to tell me she found a tick on the back of my 2 yr old dd's ear. She got it off but said it was pretty big and was in pretty good. I called the pediatrician to see if i should drop it off to have it sent to the lab....i feel like a nut. i have had ticks on myself and never tested but i guess when it comes to your children, you are more careful.

Should i bring it there to have it tested?

Yuck.. I hate ticks! I would have it tested.. .just for piece of mind.

well the pediatric office said i could drop it off and they can send it to the lab. i just hope the insurance covers that, being ive never done that before, i dont know what to expect. i live out east so i am used to ticks, hate them, but used to them. just freaked me out when my daughter had one i guess. i dropped it off after work, we will see i guess.
