How long will this luck last?
My daughter is 7 weeks old. She sleeps straight through the night without ever waking up (since birth). She cluster feeds in the evening (formula) and generally goes to bed around 10-12 and doesnt wake until 7-8am. She also takes good naps during the day and is definately getting her required amount of formula through the day. She has shot up in height (can hardly fit in the basinett anymore because of length...she's in the top 10% of her height/age). Anyway I know I should not complain because the pediatrician is extremely happy with her. I feel so spoiled by her. Everyone I know says they can't believe how good she is with her sleep patterns so early. I just wonder if she will ever change her sleeping habits and wake up at night? (not that I want her to lol). Wondering if anyone was spoiled like me and then suddenly had a huge change in dc's sleep patterns. TIA

Re: How long will this luck last?
Of course nothing is EVER gaurateed with the little ones! But my DD was like yours - started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks, and consistently by 10 weeks. She's 5 months old now and STILL STTN... so there's the chance your little one will do the same thing. I know alot of mommies here have had their DC start waking again in month 4/5 (sleep regression), which is normal.
I'm still waiting for that proverbial other shoe to drop!

Re: How long will this luck last?
My only advice is to enjoy it one day at a time! I know with DS, he is usually a great sleeper, but there are things that come up that disrupt it.
Whenever he was teething, he would start waking up in the middle of the night for several days. He would wake up earlier than usual too. When he was sick, his sleep was all off. If he got too much sleep, sometimes that would throw him off as well.
I have learned that no matter how great a sleeper he was, it was very much (and still is at times) a roller coaster where we would have moments of strange sleep patterns.
I hope the great sleeping is a permanent fixture for you!

Re: How long will this luck last?
I think we stole some peoples good baby karma b/c DC *usually* sleeps thru the night... and he's 17+months.
When he was "weeks" old he'd have his last feeding around 12, then up at 5-6.
When he was "months" old he'd sleep from 8/9-5/7 - it changed but usually still STTN.
There was a brief period when he'd wake up at 3 and wouldn't go back to sleep in his crib - and I'd have to lay w/ him on the couch but DH told me to let him CIO and after about 1 week that stopped.
I'm afraid for the terrible 2's b/c so far its been so good - I'm afraid he's saving it up for some good trouble.
How about this: Luck can run out, but a good baby is a good baby. I hope you have a good baby and not just luck.
