has anyone had postpartum wrist pain

I have the worst pain in my wrist for a week now. I have heard its called de Quervains tendinitis. It is comes with pregnancy and breast feeding moms. I was just curious if you had it what did you do for it and how long did it last?

I had it and it got pretty bad around the time DS turned 1. Basically just a lot of strain from lifting him. Finally I went to an orthopedist and they gave me a brace to wear. After using it for about a month it finally went away. I used to wear it pretty tight around my wrist.

The type of tendinitis you mentioned refers to a specific part of the wrist/arm. That wasn't the type I had.

If it is really bad/uncomfortable I suggest you try a wrist guard (probably can get one at a drug store) and if that doesn't help you can go to the doctor and they might give you a cortisone shot or something.

this thread may help - people were talking about this a week or so ago.... i ordered the cream they're mentioning for my horribly painful back - but it's not helping...

I had carpal tunnel the last few months of my pregnancy and after for a few weeks. The chirporactor helped a lot...good luck!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had AWFUL wrist pain after DS was born. I'm not sure when exactly it started... but it lasted till around 12 months maybe.....

I think it was due to holding him. My sister had the same exact thing.

She tried a wrist guard. I never tried anything, but probably should have. It was excrutiating.

i got it bc i was liefint DS by this armpits....instead of scooping him up...the pain went away after 2 days of getting a cortisone shot...
