Can anyone recommend their psychiatrist?
Trying to help my brother find a good psychiatrist to help him deal with some issues. I think he is to the point where he needs medication. Looking preferably in Western Nassau. Thank you for any help.

I work with a bunch, is he looking for just meds or therapy too? is he paying out of pocket or only insurance?

Both therapy and meds. He has Oxford Health. Thank you for any recommendations.

I have a great therapist and a psychiatrist in Queens. They both take Oxford if you need a contact in Queens.

One of my client's goes to Southeast Nassau Guidance Center in Seaford. The therapists and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner have been great to work with, very attentive, get the person in at a moment's notice and keep in touch with me about the person constantly.
I've also been able to get in touch with them after traditional "business hours" when I need to.
There is also a psychiatrist there but I've only had dealings with the NP who seems wonderful.

not sure any i work with take that unless you are OK going to a clinic which I personally see no problem with. If you want to FM details I'll see if I can think of a match.
I have heard good things about Dr. Abidi in Garden city, Dr. Rieben in new Hyde Park- both psychiatrists. BUt most psychiatrists in private practice dont do therapy, you would have to see a seperate therapist.
In a clinic, you may get one who does both

You have FM. Fyi, it's hard to find psychiatrists that do both meds and therapy. My suggestion (FM) does.
