Smell of flowers?

I have heard that your loved ones are around you when you smell flowers but wondered if anyone else has ever heard of this.
I smelled them a month after my dad passed and I just smelled them at work the other day.
The first time it was in March and on was on a street corner watching a St. Patricks day parade and the other day was at work and there were NO flowers in sight both times.

Smells yes didn't hear specifically of flowers.

One day I was leaving for work. It was early in the morning and I smelled cough drops while I was infront of my house. I actually thought someone was in the bushes because it was still dark out...scared the crap out of me.

Once I calmed down I realized that it was my Grandfather...cough drops were his thing the strong menthol ones and that is what I smelled.

Not only have I heard of it, I also have smelled flowers around me when there were no flowers anywhere. I've smelled Roses. Flowers are not the only thing i have smelled,
I have smelled my mothers powder & her favorite perfume.
My dad use to wear Old Spice every now & then I will smell that too. It has also been said that if you smell Roses that it's
the Blessed Mother with you.

I never heard of this either.

What makes this strange for me is that I dont really like the smell of flowers, especially stargazer lillies, ever since my father's wake in 1991. The fragrance brings me right back to the funeral home.

I am glad that some of you find peace or comfort from this.

i havent heard of this but for me, the overwhelming smell of flowers reminds me of my father's wake There were so many flowers, I can still smell them.

I'm glad someone posted this. The past few weeks, I have smelled flowers in my apartment and we NEVER have flowers in here. It's been about 3 times. I had heard it before but this time, I never gave it much thought. Then the other night, I had a dream I was talking to my grandmother on the phone. I really think it was her.
