Is 12 Weeks...
...Too soon to start our registry..? I was planning on waiting until we entered the 2nd trimester, but I really wanted to go with my Sister...and well, she's going to Hawaii next Tuesday, and that means I'll have to wait till almost September to register. Do you think it's OK to register at 12 weeks...??
ETA: When did you all regester or plan on registering..???

I personally think it's too early. I waited until I was 25 weeks.

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
Yes I think it's fine. 12 weeks is a good length of time for you to feel comfortable with the pregnancy. It would be a shame to miss that experience with your sister.
ETA: Especially if you're team green. We waiting until we found out the gender at 20 weeks.

I waited until after I was 24 weeks. But I was very superstious about my pregnancy.

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
So it prolly is a better idea to register more towards the middle of the 2nd rather then the begining...??

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
I think it also depends on how neurotic u r about researching products. I am only 9 weeks but already started a registry b/c I mercilessly research reviews on everything... So that takes a while, lol. Seriously, it could take me a whole day to figure out which bathtub is the best. I mean, I can def understand not wanting to b/c of being afraid of m/c but I personally feel like whether or not I picked out a highchair isn't really going to make me feel more or less terrible about that unfortunate situation... But everyone is different. I say go with ur sis- ESP if she has kids already and can help you make decisions.

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
I think it is too early, but also I have learned so much from just 12 wks to 19 wks, that i would have changed my mind so many times.
I am big into researching things, now, so I am going to wait until end of August (25 weeks)

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
You can definitely go and look at things, pick things out that you like, etc. - I did this when my mom came to visit around 12 weeks. I didn't start registering though until about 16 weeks and just finished last week (at 18 weeks) - we are team green.

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
I think it's a bit early but if your sister isn't going to be available until it's too late, why don't you start a registry and just get her advice on the basics? You don't need to pick out everything, but if you want her input on some of the bigger ticket items, it is always helpful to have some help.

I think if you're comfortable doing it, then go for it. Personally, I think it's a little early but that's just me.

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
I started researching items around 12 weeks - read baby bargains, looked them up online.
I still haven't registered yet - I want to make sure everything is ok with my level II beforehand and my shower isn't going to be until October so I figure I have some time.

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
Its not too early to start researching but I would wait until after your level II. I went early in my pregnancy to both BRU & BBB to compare and to look at stuff that I wanted to research. Also a saleswoman at BRU told me not to register too early b/c some patterns and colors get discontinued so you don't want to fall in love with one item/pattern/color and find out it is not available any more.
HTH!

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
I'm 15 weeks and we started this past weekend. We have a really busy September and early October ahead of us. We are going to Hawaii for 9 days, New York for 5 days, having a wedding reception in NY and LV, so I wanted to get some of the things that I wanted to look at out of the way. Plus we already know we are having a because of a CVS.

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
I started mine early, and I am glad that I did - I like to research and have time to change my mind.... LOL.
Starting early gave me that ability, and it worked very well for me - I feel that I had a very comprehensive registry that was well thought out.....
Good Luck and Have fun!!!

Re: Is 12 Weeks...
i started research on mine around week 12. reading reviews, asking friends, consumer reports, etc. I officially started an online registry for the small things. we are going either my 19th or 20th week to the actual store for the big items.
