reccomend a hotel
Hi Everyone!
My mom and I want to go away for a few days next week. Somewhere we can drive....i know the NJ shore, PA, out east....but can anyone recommend a specific hotel you have stayed at. We are looking for a pool to relax by maybe a town to go in to for shopping or dinner in the evening....and somewhere baby friendly. I called Hershey hotel and they are like $400 + a night the lodge was over $500 for the rooms available....i would like to keep it somewhere in the $250 max range.
Thanks!!

Re: reccomend a hotel
hershey hotel is the premier hotel in the Hershey area; I am sure there are some nice Holiday Ins and other chains near by. i have no specific recommendations for hershey, but a lot of people on the travel board go to hershey, lancaster area, etc. and might have some advice if you don't want a chain hotel.

Re: reccomend a hotel
Best Western Revere Inn - Paradise, PA - it's close to Lancaster and Amish Country - tons of shopping. Dutch Wonderland is a few minutes away, Hershey is 35 miles away.
I stayed there a few years ago and would recommend it without hesitation - the beds were comfy, the restaurant was good, they had two pools, it was easy to find and close to a lot of shopping, restaurants, etc.

Re: reccomend a hotel
We stayed at Four Points by Sherwood Hotel in York,PA when we went to Hershey. We drove to Hershey from there and also went to Amish, Lancaster PA.We were in the middle of both in opposite directions. It had an indoor pool which we wanted for the kids just in case it rained. We had a great time. They were having a special which you have to research, stay 2 nights get 1 free I found a promo code. I got 3 nights for $220.00. YOu can't beat that. THe hotel was clean and classy. I highly recommend it.

Re: reccomend a hotel
i've gone to PA to the lancaster area many times with my children. two specific hotels: willow valley and bird in hand willow valley has a GREAT indoor pool. . so after a day of shoppping, dinner, etc. . it's great to head back to th pool at night. it is more of a big hotels whr bird in hand is more of a back woods Amish type of quaint family style motel. . .which we also enjoyed very much. this hotel came recommended to me by many people.

Re: reccomend a hotel
Bird in hand family inn in Bird in hand pa... perfect hotel for family or baby. It has a beautiful walk in type of pool no stairs and the walk in area is so big for your baby ti sit and play in the water. It also has a huge playground made of wood by the Amish a petting zoo, a pretty lake ( man made) to walk around in the evenings and you are in the middle of Amish country to watch the horse and buggies go by. Not far from shopping at all. In fact , they have quite a few cute shops in the town and a few more just down the road a bit. It's about 40 mins from Hershey but 5 minutes from Dutch Wonderland.. we stay here very time we go to pa.. we were just there 4th of July week. I stay here at least once a year. They have an older originial type of drive up motel in front, where rooms go for 100 per nite, or they have the back "pool" building which is newer nicer rooms for 125 per nite. I can't say enough about this place. They also have an onsite restaurant that you can either have a buffet or sit down meal at.. food is very good for breakfast lunch or dinner. Rooms have mini fridges also which is perfect for your little one! Here's the website- www.bird-in-hand.com
