Please review your double stroller for me
Thanks.
We are due with our 2nd in Jan and they will be 11 months apart.
I would like one of the 'long ones' instead of the side by side ones since i want to be able to put an infant seat in.
Thanks so much!

Re: Please review your double stroller for me
Oh Congrats BTW!
I've had and tested many many doubles..
With the long ones you are sorta limited to your options..depending on how much you want to spend..
I totally rec'd the sit n stand Elite, the one that the back seat for the older child goes from a regular stroller to a jump seat.
But a warning..once kids get older they are B_tch to turn!!
I just had to get rid of mine..2 30lb kids and 30lb stroller=not pretty and a big workout for mommy! And there NO way you'll ever be able to steer with one hand.
I just got a baby jogger city elite double..It's come a long way since the one i used to have, it's heavy, but it pushes so easily with one hand, gets through all doorways and now they make an infant seat attachment for it..and it's suitable for babies from birth. they put so many upgrades into it..I LOVE IT!
I tested the Peg double, had a chicco double, HATED the graco's, didn't like the Bob..
Good luck! Another LIF'er and I did so much research on doubles it spun our heads!
ETA mine are 14 months apart

Re: Please review your double stroller for me
I have the bumbleride indie twin (side by side but I can use my snugride 32 with it) and I LOVE it!!! It fits 2 vera bradley diaper bags and a little cooler if I want to in the basket underneath. Both my DDs like it.
I also have the deluxe sit and stand from OSA. I like it for stores - but don't love it b.c DD#1 pokes at DD b.c she is in the infant seat in front of her so it is too much of a temptation. She wants to hold her hand, or her feet or talk to her all the time so she is always waking up the baby. I don't like that the basket is basically impossible to get to when you use the back seat (you have to go in from the side). It is like a boat to push but it is easier to get up and down rows when shopping than with a side by side.
I also have the city mini double - haven't used it yet so I can't comment.

you can put an infant carrier in a side by side - you just need to also buy the adaptor.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my BOB Duallie! I have said it before - best baby purchase I have ever made.
I couldn't stand the Sit n Stand deluxe

I only have 1 child but I read that the Phil and Ted double stroller is great and plan to get that when we have baby #2.

Re: Please review your double stroller for me
I adore my Phil and Ted and wish we'd gotten it for #1. We would have saved a ton of money on strollers.
The downside is that there is no infant seat attachment for the Phil and Ted.

ETA mine are 14 months apart
Am I the other LIF'er...
My two are 14.5 months apart and these are the strollers I went through in order:
1. Urban Mountain Buggy Double with carseat adapater (side by side): I had it for 6 weeks and sold it because DS (my older one) didn't like the bucket seats. I also didn't like that the carseat sat facing out and not me with the infant carrier (I just it was odd) and you couldn't keep it on so that was annoying to put on and off each time. The wheels didn't lock when you closed it and it stayed flat as opposed to folded. It wasn't an everyday stroller that's for sure. It was awesome for walks though.
2. Graco Quattro Duo Tour (front to back): I had this stroller from the youngest being 7 weeks until she was 9-10 months old) DS was 16-23 months old. I didn't like it but it served it's purpose. The back reclined almost flat so that is where DD went. I didn't have a Graco infant carrier so I couldn't just snap her in and needed to put her in and out of the carseat which was annoying. Once DS reached 2 yr. old it started getting heavy to push because all the weight was in the front. DD started getting curious too around the 8 month mark and it was hard for her to see. I tried putting DS in the back and well it was nightmare when he would have a tantrum.
3.) Baby Trend Sit-n-stand (still have it): It was great in the beginning because DD was in the front and it wasn't hard to push. Then DS turned 3 and all of sudden he wanted to sit in the front and I was putting DD who was almost 2 on the jumpseat. It is/was a nightmare because DD would take everything out of the my diaper bag. I still use it for quick errands.
4.) Maclaren Twin Triumph: I bought it for a trip to Niagara falls knowing that my DS was going to want to sit in a real seat and relax and I am so glad I got it. I really do love the stroller because it folds small for a double and the kids seem to be comfortable in it. For the most part they are good but when DS gets in one of his moods he starts to pick on DD and it is hard to stop him since he is next to her.
Now after all that, if I had to do it over again I would have went with the Zooper Tango. I was at the mall when DD was 3 months old and stopped the mom and she raved about it. I didn't get it because I couldn't find one in person and DH really didn't think a side by side was a good idea. It also takes carseats.

Re: Please review your double stroller for me
I got the bumbleride from buy buy baby (they have a double in the westbury store if you want to test it out).
I recently got a city mini double from albee baby and although their coupon says it doesn't work with baby jogger it took it (I didn't see that it didn't take it until after I purchased it) so I tried to plug in the code with the bumbleride and it took it. It was 10% off at the time. So when you are ready to buy one check and see if one of their online coupons will work (they do free shipping for purchases over $100).

i love my bumbleride indie twin too! love the way it handles, it's pretty light considering it's a double! my 2 yr old loves it and i love that it has the carseat adaptor as well. it was expensive but well worth it to me so far! it even fits through store doorways which i didn't think it would!

Re: Please review your double stroller for me
I have the Joovy Ergo 2009 (tandem -long ones) and I really like it, it allows for the car seat to face you and toddler to face out and as the infant gets older it turns into a sit and stand. It is a little heavy but I don't think much heavier than most double strollers. It rides very smooth and folds up/opens up veryu easily, I really like mine and would recommend it.

Re: Please review your double stroller for me
I have twins and use the Valco Twin Runabout. It is a great stroller and I can wheel and turn with one hand. It seems comfy for the boys. It is heavy tho to lift in nd out of my big SUV.
I also would like to get the Kolcraft Tandem Options stroller which you should look into. It has a carseat adaptor and the seats can face each other or face you which is cool. I ran into a Mom at the Dr that had two little ones(not twins) and she said she loved it. It is a front to back

Re: Please review your double stroller for me
I have the peg perego aria twin. My boys are 12 months apart. It is only 17 pounds and the Graco carseat sits down low and it's fairly secure. There is a strap that peg perego can send you to make it more secure. The only problem is that my older one touches the younger one. I love that the stroller is so light weight and it is very smooth.

if you look on Albeebaby.com they sell the city mini car seat adapter, so they have a pic and you can see what it looks like..they also had one set up in BBB when i went (the one in huntington) i LOVE this stroller, but would love to hear anyone who has used the car seat adapter as you and i are BOTH going to need that bigtime.. from what i saw, it seemed alittle shakey to me, BUT alot of times they arent set up properly at BBB cause some of the employees are well, for lack of a better word, stumped easily.
anyone out there use the citi with the car seat adapter???

I chose not to get the car seat adaptor b.c the seat reclines fully and you can put an infant in it straight away. I DO however have the adaptor for the bumbleride and use it for that one - and it works great (there is a strap as well as the bar you would use). I didn't get the city mini adaptor bar b.c it has narrower seats and I felt that the car seat was encroaching on DD#1s seat.

Re: Please review your double stroller for me
I don't know about the City Jogger double since I have a single, but the carseat adapter was VERY sturdy with a Graco. The baby sits high up out of the stroller in an attached frame.
