WWYD with professional books that you don't need/want?
So space in my house is at a premium, and since I've been a teacher for 13 years now I've acquired a LOT of books. I'm reorganizing and there is a good number that I just won't use- I haven't used them in ages, never used them (freebies) or I don't deal with the grade/level anymore and never will (i.e. books about teaching elementary reading). Space at school is also limited.
All the books are in great condition but I feel like most of them are so outdated/obscure that they won't sell. I can't see donating to Goodwill. The only thing I can think of is Freecycle- maybe a gung-ho new teacher/teacher-to-be will want to take them off my hands.
Any other ideas? Can't believe how long this was!

Ebay, there are a lot of homeschool teachers who like such books. See what they are going for on Amazon. I sold my grad school books that way.
Some local libraries (Half Hollow Hills definately does) accept donations which they either use or sell in a book sale.

I know the Farmingdale Library has a large section of teacher resources. Don't know their policy on accepting donations but you could ask.

I have actually bought a lot on amazon. It's easy to see what others are selling for.

When you get back to school put them in the teacher's lounge with a sign on them...that's what is practice at my school

you could try to sell them OR if your school has a teacher resource center you could see if they would want them. we have one in my school
