Re: need teacher help
I would say go back and finish..You only have 3 classes left and it is a great degree to have and you can use it someday. You could even start as a sub until you get a job.

Yes, there may not be jobs right now, BUT people retire every year, people move and people keep having kids soooo by the time you finish there may be plenty of jobs.

ITA...in my building alone we are already hearing that two people will be retiring (this will be their last year).

Re: need teacher help
thank you so much ladies...everyone has been putting it down so much. I feel like to i spent all that $ already why not just finish. I am thinking about going into nursing so they kept saying do that instead. I much rather teach i just wanted nursing to have job security.

Re: need teacher help
it was bad this year (the worst I have seen since I started 12 years ago), BUT it was so bad, b/c of the recession and class sizes were increased. In 2-3 years - those class sizes will come down and there will be jobs.
for elementary, usually the applicant pool is taken from subs, TAs, leave replacements, etc...so getting into one of those positions might position you great when the hiring increases.
and like pps have said - retirment. my SD has an "incentive" this year (regarding health benefits in retirement), so we will see quite a bit.

Re: need teacher help
If you only have three classes left, I would definitely finish regardless of whether I wanted to go into teaching or not. A bachelors degree in something is better than a bachelors degree in nothing.
