Question ???- ETA: Just got back from doctor
Hi-
So I just got a BFP this week! I'm excited but in shock and so nervous. My last period was weird started spotting on 8/8 and then stopped and full AF on 8/12. So I was vey careful during the 2 ww. However, I took a test on Thursday 9/3 which was negative. So, I had bad cramps was sure AF was coming and I drank at my BF's wedding. I am so nervous. I know this has happened before and I'm wondering if it happened to any of you what your doctors said. I was either 31/2 or 4 weeks depending on what date would be used??? Thanks!

Just went to the doctor and I feel like the worst person ever! She said usually with alcohol it is all or nothing meaning it would cause a miscarriage if anything. And then I said so if the baby is born it would be fine. She is not an OB(she is gyn), but she said when I see the OB to mention in they may want to check the cardio at 16 weeks- ughhh I could be sick- I feel like a terrible person!

hey! congrats! don't worry about it at all, the alcohol cannot affect the baby until the placenta starts working, which is around 6 weeks. you're fine!

Congrats and no worries-you don't share a bloodstream with your DC until 6 weeks. I had mojitos the day before my BFP.

Don't worry about the alcohol - my cycles were insanely irregular - anywhere from 30-60 days so it was hard to know when we were in the 2ww. DH and I were headed to Rome for a vacation - took a test before, negative. Drank heavily in Rome (oh the wine!), started feeling weird, took a test there - still negative. Decided to stop making myself crazy and kept drinking the wine and enjoying my vacation. Got a BFP the day I got home - I'm 22 weeks now - and she's totally fine. It's true that alcohol won't affect the baby until about 6 weeks (counted from CD1 if you're regular) when the placenta takes over so you really have nothing to worry about.

I had a bunch of margaritas before i knew i was pg too.. you are fine congrats and heres to a healthy and happy 9 months

Congrats!!
I got trashed one night with my friends and then thought me "sickness" was something else so I took lots of flu meds. THEN I found out I was preggo. My DS is 15 years old now and he's fine.
Don't stress yourself out over nothing. Most of us have done something similar.

I dont know why your doc would say that. I told mine that around 3 weeks preggo, I got trashed at a friends bach party and my doctor said that the baby would be fine. Dont worry too much everything will be ok.

wow. i am sorry to say that doctor sounds like an idiot! drinking alcohol for one night before you find out you are pregnant is not going to hurt the baby or cause a miscarriage. you do not share anything you take into your body until the baby is 6 weeks old and the placenta starts working. you are NOT a terrible person and i would not see this doctor again

I had spotting before my BFP like I usually had before AF so I went out with DH and had a number of drinks. Two days later, I got my BFP (when the spotting stopped). I was 3w6d and now am 26w4d.

With DS I was out for my birthday doing sake bombs 2 days before my bfp. Ds is perfectly healthy.

ITA!! What a jerkoff! You will be TOTALLY FINE! This gyno has no idea what she is saying! Please relax. Talk to your OB and he/she will confirm what LB and I have already told you... no worries!!

Don't feel bad at all! I drank before I got my BFP and I have had a healthy pregnancy.
I can't believe your doctor would tell you that, all of them say that in the first few weeks, you don't share a bloodstream with the baby!
