Kissing Newborn
What are your thoughts on this? I have a no kissing rule for my 5 week old but my husband thinks I am over reacting. Do you let people kiss your newborn?

Re: Kissing Newborn
Family, yeah I think I'm ok with that, as long as they're not sick! Strangers or people I'm not that close to, NO WAY!

Re: Kissing Newborn
I think you are over reacting to immediate family only. But with that said, I made everyone wash their hands before picking DS up as a newborn. I also asked how they were feeling before picking up DS. If they had a cold then they were not permitted to even pick him up. If they were fine I was ok with them kissing him. Strangers and friends and family beyond grandparents/uncles were not permitted to kiss him for the first month or so.

Re: Kissing Newborn
I want to implement a NO kissing my newborn on the face rule as well. I would be worried that someone might be sick & go near the baby anyway.

Ditto. The thought would never even cross my mind not to let people kiss him (when DS was a newborn). Of course he wasn't around anyone outside close family and friends.
