SOPHIA is here, and we're HOME!
Thanks to my sister (mrskparetta) for updating!!!
My beautiful angel was born on 9/16 at 9:05am via sched csect. She weighed 7lbs6oz and was 20inches! She has dark blue eyes and super soft light brown hair! She did great in the hospital, came home weighing 7lbs1oz - and her umbillical cord stump already fell off!  Im down 12 of the 20lbs which im thrilled about! I think I would have lost all of it in the hospital BUT my boobs are GIGANTOR!
Things have been a little up and down with my health, but Sophia is PERFECT!
The recover from the section was pretty bad the first 2 days, but now im feeling about 80% back to normal! Just a little tired.
As soon as she was born I was producing a ton of collostrum, but Sophie wouldnt latch (she turns her upper lip IN making it tough) so Ive been pumping. Unfortunately Ive been MAJORLY engorged, pumping 6-8oz from each side at each sitting. The pain from the engorgement is worse than from the surgery! My nurse told me she's NEVER seen anyone produce SO much milk so quickly!  Im blessed that I have it for the baby, but I cant keep up with pumping it, and the pain is horrible  Anyone have any hints/tips that help with the engorgment?!
annnyway, we're home now and she's sleeping in her little lamb seat

shes beautiful! congratulations!!!
on the laugh and learn breastfeeding dvd, the lady suggested cold cabbage leaves for engorgement. she said to take the leaves and just rest them on your boobs and it relieves the pain. hope you feel better soon!

oh Val i love her congrats!!
the engorgement will go away. try not to pump TOO much (even though it hurt) because that only tells your body to make more milk. use warm compresses and massages in a warm shower to express a little milk for relief. it will get better, i promise!!

Welcome to the world Sophia! Congratulations Mommy!! She is gorgeous! I know alot of BFing mommies used cabbage leaves in their nursing bras to help with engorgement. HTH!
