They accepted an offer...now what?
I'm really excited and extremely nervous at the same time after they accepted our offer...but what's the next step? Do I talk to a lawyer first, a mortgage broker, or do I get the inspection before I even talk to them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Re: They accepted an offer...now what?
book the home inspection asap and start looking into attorneys. contracts are drawn up by the sellers attorney and sent to your attorney but thats usually not until the inspections been done anyway in case there are certain repairs or stipulations that need to be added to the contract and negotiated.
do you already have a mortgage approval? if so, then once the contracts are signed you have 45 days to shop around and get the commitment.
good luck!

After we were accepted, we were advised to schedule an inspection and get a lawyer asap... we were actually hounded for a few days by the sellers attorney for our attys info (we couldnt decide on who to use.. let me know if you need a recommendation for both!)
decide on a lender you want to go with and let them start working on the paperwork.... we started the loan process before we even found a place

Thanks so much!!!!!! Quick question again- so technically we should get the home inspection first? Then, from there, we can have our lawyers draw up the contract?

Yes, Inspection is first. If there is anything that is found during the inspection that needs to be fixed, you want that written in the contract before both parties sign it.
Best of luck

Us too! The seller accepted our offer on a Wednesday and we had the house inspected on that Saturday. We also picked a lawyer at the same time. We were already pre-approved for the mortgage but in the end, even with good credit, it didn't help our process move any faster.
