Computer/laptop experts...need advice
I'm looking for a laptop that will be used for internet surfing (facebook, LIF, etc) and photoshop (graphics) as well as uploading pictures. No gaming at all on this computer.
Any good deals out there?

I'm looking for a desktop.
I was always a die-hard Dell person. However, my boss (who researches everything to death) told me that he's gone HP, which is significantly cheaper. He also told me that he's found the best deals at places like Best Buy & Costco over Dell.com - even with our employee discount.

You also can look up deals at www.deals2buy.com. You can get a decent laptop for under $600. If you can wait, Black Friday is coming up. Can get pretty good deals then!

would you consider a netbook? they're small and run pretty well for what you want.
i bought DH the acer aspire from amazon for 295.00 (the blue one with 10.1" screen)
i have the acer in pink.
i also have a Dell Inspiron but i cant say i've had good luck with dell laptops lately.

DH and my sister have had awful luck with Dells over the past few years. my sister and i both have HP laptops now (i forget which model) and it was the best decision we made. the laptops were significantly cheaper than the Dells with the same specifications, and neither of us has had a single issue in 2 years of ownership.

At DH's old job they always used HP laptops and they are great. Everyone I know that has had a Dell laptop has had issues with them. My friend also had an HP laptop that lasted her over 8 years...she just purchased another HP laptop.

Hey Stefanie, I bought a toshiba satellite one, and it was 400, its been pretty good and I also use it mainly for the same features you need!

i just bought a hp laptop at staples it was 370 and i will be getting a rebate for $30 and it came with a free printer which i will be getting the money back in a rebate check.

i don't think the other promotions are there. i had to go to three staples to find one.
