Re: Cooking?

I cook mostly every night. Since we are both working during the week, i stick to easier dishes. My favorites to make are perogies sauteed in olive oil with peas and onions, meat loaf with mashed potatos, homemade mac & cheese, lasagna, chicken parm.

Re: Cooking?

I cook every night, except weekends, we usually eat out.

I NEVER cooked before getting married/moving out of home Chat Icon Now I LOVE it!

I usually just google recipe of whatever I want to make...you name it.

I find once I have the ingredients and follow the recipe ...it's pretty easy

Re: Cooking?

I cook almost every night (and have been since we moved in together almost 3 years ago).
Every week I do at least one of each:
Chicken dish (sometimes just marinated and grilled but I do other things too)
Steak (always grilled with some kind of potato)
Pork (usually grilled chops, sometimes I do roasted pork loin with potato pancakes, or sausage)
Fish (typically baked, but I also coat tilapia in Emril's essense and fry it, so yum)
Pasta (varies from ziti to alfredo, etc)

Re: Cooking?

Last night I made stuffing stuffed pork (thin and pounded out and wrapped around a ball of stuffing)...don't overdo the stuffing (IE don't let it cook in the water too long) and then bake it at 350 for around an hour...

On the side I made prosciutto wrapped asparagus! All you have to do is coat the baking sheet in olive oil, salt and pepper the stalks and wrap them in a thin piece of prosciutto. They take 20 mins!

It was such a yummy meal!!!!!!!

Re: Cooking?

I love to cook but it's so hard during the week because I'm exhausted after a long work day and commute. Lately I've been cooking at least one big meal on the weekends and using my new foodsaver to vacuum seal portions to freeze. Each night, I just pull something out and put it in the fridge to defrost for the next day. Today was Burritto Pie with freshly made guacamole and chips to go along with it. It's so nice to have a good meal with little effort and I get to enjoy cooking on the weekends when I have more time. BTW, almost all of my recipes come from allrecipes.com - the best recipe site ever!

Re: Cooking?

I like variety. I'll make things with my slow cooker like stew and try out new recipes with that. I keep chicken and frozen veggies in my freezer, defrost and toss with sauce and some barilla plus pasta and its a very healthy meal. DH likes to cook things like lasagna, ziti and has been mixing it up by incorporating more veggies. I usually keep it simple but I do like to try new recipes. I look on foodnetwork.com for ideas but I really only try easy recipes.

Re: Cooking?

DH and I both cook, and one of us cooks almost every night. DH has pretty simple tastes but I've been trying to mix it up. We do a lot of chicken, london broil, pork chops, shrimp, pasta, prepared all kinds of different ways. Really not too tough although there are some nights things turn out better than others....Chat Icon
