So I went to a show friday night (with pics)
It was a girls night out at the hammerstein ballroom on friday night to see DJ Tiesto. It was bananas to say the least, and hands down one of the best nights of my life!!! I was one of the oldest people there, but I danced my a$$ off like noone was watching!! I felt like such a kid again

Don't pretend you don't know... I see your head in the middle of the second picture! 
I liken it to a cover charge for a dance club but one where you know you're going to hear great music because it's a DJ you like. Not to mention the show they put on with the pyro and all. I've never been to one that elaborate but I've paid to get into dance clubs before. If it's music you enjoy, why not?

Wow, what the heck happened to this post?
I paid about $75 for the ticket, but his shows have been known to sell between 200-300, so I got a bargain
Just like any other artist, he just released an album Kaleidiscope and is currently touring to promote it. His album consists of tracks that he produced himself and features a few artists that have collaborated with him by laying vocals. No "remixed" songs or anything. He has in the past remixed popular songs, which is how he built his reputation. If you get a chance, look him up on wikipedia. It's a much better explanation.
It's not the kind of DJ your thinking of that you find at a club that plays top 40. If you don't listen to trance/techno, it's hard to explain. And greenfreak also mentioned something important too. His shows are quite elaborate when it comes to sound and sight. Huge screens, Lights, lasers, and smoke contributes to the excitement of it all.
