Those pg with #2

Did you feel differently with this pg?
I just got my BFP recently, but I remember being so excited at this point with #1..whereas this time around, I immediately feel worried how DD and our little family (and nice routine) of 3 will be affected!!

Is this normal??

I feel the same way! This pregnancy is totally different, I'm excited and worried , more nervous about all the extra work and no sleep. my first pregnancy was pure excitement 100% of the time.

ETS I keep telling my DS ( he is one year now) that he will always be my favorite Chat Icon Chat Icon I have to stop because he is going to understand me soon.

Re: Those pg with #2

I worry about the same.

I'll admit too, that when DH asks me what week I am, I'm like Chat Icon and have to think. There are too many other things going on for me to continually think about being pg.

Thats all I think about. I am more concerned with DS and how his life will change then with the baby kicking away inside. I almost feel neglectful of him/her but I know I am probably just being a worry wart.

I feel the same. We have such a comfy happy little family. I know another child will only add to the joy, but I feel bad sometimes that we will be changing DD's "routine". I know it will be ok though Chat Icon

Re: Those pg with #2

I had the hardest time in the beginning of the pregnancy. I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to love the new baby or that I would love my DD less. I was also worried that I wouldn't be able to handle it, I like my life very much right now and I was so scared it was going to get ruined. Once I found out what I was having and I started to feel the kicks and get sono pics I felt much better and now at 24 weeks I can gladly say that I am very much excited for the new baby and I already feel very bonded with him.

Re: Those pg with #2

Definitely! I felt different physcially (was sicker sooner and for longer) and emotionally! In the very beginning was so excited but, definitely more nervous too. I felt so sick in the beginning and it was SO much harder being sick and taking care of a toddler that I started to question myself and wonder if I had made the right decision. But, eventually the sickness past and things got MUCH better. I'm so excited now but, of course all the nerves of how it is going to be are in my head to. Also, last time I was ready to be pg forever - this time I just want my little Chat Icon here already!

Re: Those pg with #2

#2 could come anyday now and I still can't fathom being responsible for another child, and worry about how it will affect DS. But, I know I shouldn't feel guilty and he'll love his sibling - it'll just be an adjustment, for us all!

Congrats Becky! So far my pregnancy is exactly the same and I am cool with that! No M/S at all! Chat Icon I hope I didn't just jinx myself!

Sometimes I feel bad for DD#1 and that soon I'll have to share her, but everything will work out. Chat Icon

I haven't had these feelings yet, but I'm sure I will. For me, I'm only just over 5w and I don't think it's sunk in yet. It's not "real" until I have a sono and see the bean. Ask me then! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Those pg with #2

I'm worried about how things will effect us since we weren't TTC when I got pg I feel like I wasn't in the right mindset to begin with. Not that I am no soooo excited to have another, but with the worry and feeling worse this time around I feel like I'm not enjoying my pg as much this time around. But I will still be soooo excited when he/she is born and I'm sure we will adjust.

Re: Those pg with #2

this one was completely not planned so the excitement really wasnt there. now, 26 weeks in, i'm starting to get more and more excited.. I love kids and dh and i are thrilled to be expanding our family..

and physically i feel different- not as hungry- i also dont have any time to do anything as i'm taking care of an 8 month old.

Also- i have a better idea of what to expect so i'm a lot calmer!

Re: Those pg with #2

I was thrilled about this pregnancy since DH and I were actually "trying" for a while and I was beginning to feel like it would never happen.

When I got prego with my DS, the ex and I we were not trying, or married, and still pretty young too boot, so I was alot more anxious and scared then than I am now.

However, this pregnancy happend at a point when we were dealing with tough issues; I had just lost my job, while in the early stages of a nasty legal battle with my Ex over custody of DS. That said, we had a LOT of stress and the weight of supporting our family has fallen on DH's shoulders. I think it has taken a little away from the excitement and joy of this pregnancy, but as we get closer to my due date, I am feeling the baby move and so is DH. We are both getting more excited and can't wait to meet my new little guy.

Re: Those pg with #2

Yes, I was very content and comfortable with having just DD. But I wanted her to have a sibling. She's at a great independent age, has such a bond with both of us, and it is stil hard for me to imagine anotherChat Icon in the mix. I'm sure once the baby is here, everything will fall into place and it will be like the new baby was never not here.Chat Icon

Re: Those pg with #2

I'm definitely worrying more with this one, like I'm more worried about losing the pregnancy than I was with my DD, however, I'm enjoying it more right now than I did in the beginning with my first pregnancy. I'm not as sick as I was with her....yet, I'm not worrying about what pregnancy will be like, since I already know, etc. I'm also more distracted by the fact that I already have a DC, so it's not like I have the time to sit and be as excited as I was with my first.
