Job openings
Is there anyway we can start an official post with job openings in their district? You don't have to say the exact districts on the post (I guess FM is better?)... I know most people already have jobs now, but I am still looking! Done plenty of leave replacements, but I had to settle for a T.A. job this year so far... I just figured this was easier, since most people have a hard time finding something through OLAS... I don't know if it's allowed, but just a thought!

 I would love this! I have been looking for an English position for awhile now. Same thing here; leave replacements, subbing etc. It would be nice to have an "inside" info.
By the way, I have NEVER heard of anyone being hired off of OLAS! Have you?

I currently work in the city and have been miserable there lately. I would love to get on LI too.... I hate OLAS!! I feel like it doesnt work

I don't know of any positions in my district, but i just wanted to say that I totally agree with you about OLAS!
I posted on another post that every job I have ever gotten (3 jobs) has been off of that schools private application system. I never even got a call for an interview from anything I applied for on OLAS. I felt like my chances were always better with the private application system.

I think for a regular elem position this might be true, but OLAS really works in almost every other situation.
I got my job through OLAS and some other interviews.

I know people on here have, but I don't know anybody IRL who have... I had a leave replacement in my building last year and they already gave it to me, but they told me they had to post it for formality reasons and I needed to apply.. I'm sure that's what happens in most cases..

Unfortunatly there are no openings right now in my district...
However, I just wanted to post to let eveyrone know- I got my current job through OLAS, so dont get too discouraged, it does work!

I think this is great also trying to break into LI. I have been teaching in the city for 4 years.
I am certified Childhood 1-6 and Spec Ed. Birth-2 and 1-6.
I have also applied to OLAS so many times and I never hear anything. Makes me wonder.
