Varicoceles

Does anyone have any additional info or insight? DH was diagnosed, he went for first sperm analysis this morning, going for the second one later this week to see what his count is. The more I read about this online, the more nervous I am getting.

Also, follow up appointment with urologist is not until 4/24, can I call for results before that?

If you have the sperm count analysis results they are actually very telling.

Varicoceles are very common in men, some doctors depending on the sperm count urge men to have the surgically repaired, while others do not. Usually you can not see an improvement in sperm count for about 6-9 months after the repair.

I highly recommend the book How to Get Pregnant by Dr. Silber. It gets into a lot of assisted reproduction but he spends a lot of time on Male Factor Issues and varicoceles.

DH went to Quest this morning to drop off the first sample, he is going to drop another one off later this week. Does anyone have an idea of the turnaround time? thanks!

Quest turns around blood in one day usually the hold up is the people at your Dr's office because they call with results at a certain time. Hint in the future have the doctor write STAT on the perscription-they turn it around more quickly

No problem I just realized I spelled prescription wrong--see I know how to spell it I am always spell horribly on here
