tut tut... it rained yesterday! =)
so i was right on the money and my surprise shower was yesterday. everything was blue and cupcake related which I loved. it was so perfect, but very bittersweet. all the decorations were from my mom, so that took a little dealing with. i didnt want to cry at the sight of a balloon, plus I had eyeliner on.  i couldnt control it however when i opened a basket that was supposed to be from my dad and brother but i knew all the stuff was bought by my mom (crying now just thinking about it.) it was very emotional for me. DH, MIL, SIL and my friend Marisa went ABOVE and beyond for while I'm so grateful.

Congratulations!!! Sounds wonderful and emotional of course. How beautiful that your mom's presence was there, as hard as it may have been.

So glad you had a nice time! Sounds like you had a very special mom - mine was the same way - she bought my daughter (who is 4) birthday gifts up until like her 21st birthday. I'm sure she was there in spirit celebrating with you!!!

thanks ladies. it was very emotional. but in true "mommy spirit" i pulled it together. it helped sitting at the table with my mom's friends, cousins and even my sister  b/c there were many a mommy story told.
