Kitty owners
How many inches of litter do you put at the bottom of the pan? I don't want to put too much or too little but I always wind up with like 4 inches..and then it is really hard to clean up the pee pee clumps...(sorry TMI)

I usually but a layer of about 2 1/2 inches ...she kicks it up all over anyway and it turns into little mountains in spots but ....it works... for her

I put a 20 lb. box in the litter box, leave it there for a month (cleaning every couple of days, of course) and then dump it and start all over.

Our kitty does the same thing! We got a higher litter pan for that purpose so he wouldn't kick it all over the place but he still manages to find a way to do that! When he uses the litter box it looks as if he's digging for gold the way he covers up his litter.

About 2-3 inches. I use the non-clumping kind but I sift through it pretty well. I change the tray they use the most every week and the other one every second week.

i put about 4-5 inches of litter.....my two cats pee like it's their job 
if i put less, even when i clean it everyday, it starts to smell

I use Yesterdasy's news kitty litter...it looks like pellets. you dont need that much in the bottom and I fine there is no smell and very little mess. My kitty will knock a few pellets out of the box but they are easily swept up.
I love that litter!!
