Night 2 in the big girl bed-failure!

So, I just posted that DD well last night in her new big girl bed.

Well, tonight not so much.

She was nervous about being in the bed. I sat next to her for a while then I moved from the bed to her chair.

She didn't want me to leave. When I did, I could see her on the monitor walking back and forth on the bedChat Icon

Her bed is a sleigh bed and is a little high, I have fears of her falling out, etc.

In any case, we moved the pack and play up to her new room. I guess we'll just keep trying. In the meantime, I hope she doesn't resent the baby being in her old crib/room in a couple weeksChat Icon Chat Icon

Did you re-decorate the new room a little? My little one resisted at first and everyone said I was "mean" to be evicting her. But you know your kid best. I painted the new room pink and purple (her favorites). She was at first timid but now she loves her room.

Depending on how old your child is -- I used a responsibility board to help --
broke it down into four steps under the general category "get ready for bed".
1st step -- Help put pj's on.
2nd step -- Brush teeth.
3rd step -- Get in bed for story.
4th step -- Stay in bed w/o getting up.

She got mini magnet prizes for doing each step for two weeks and then got a present at the end. It worked.

Then again, she could just have liked the room cause I've tried the responsibility board thing w/ potty training and it's a no go.

Good luck!

Thanks-yeah, we did redecorate the room.

When she walked by the nursery everything was set up for painting so we told her her old room was "broken" and she's had no desire to go in there since.

She plays in the new room and likes to hang out on the bed, It's just getting her used to sleeping in the bed that is an issue. I think we will just keep her in the PNP for a while and try the bed every now and then. I don't know what else to do.

I think she's a little young for the sticker chart-but that's a great idea for potting training which is up next.
