First Round of the stomach bug of the season....

DS is 2 1/2. Has been throwing up for 3 hours now. Should I sleep with him tonight? What do you mommies do? And do you let him drink as much as they want in between vomiting? This has to be one of the worst things for mommies and kiddos....

Ugh I'm sorry It went through my house too and I had it so bad I wanted to die.

My DD isn't as old as your DS but I would recommend that instead of letting him drink as much as he wants in between vomiting, you give him just a tiny bit of liquid at a time - a sip every five minutes or so. See if he can keep it down. I'm sure he is super thirsty from throwing up but if he drinks too much it is harder to keep down. He will get dehydrated if he doesn't have any liquid going in so if you give a little bit at a time you have a greater chance of it staying down.

And you (and anyone taking care of him) wash your hands about a million times. This is not something you want to catch

The good news is it seems to pass quickly so hopefully by tomorrow he will feel much better!

Yes let him drink as much as possible even though he throws it up. My daughter had this when she was a yr old and she ended up in the hospital becuase she was dehydrated. Pedialyte and pedialyte pops are great for this.

Oh man - that sux! I would keep him hydrated with Pedialyte. Hope he's better soon!
