Sit ups
Please settle a debate....
Do you have to be somewhat in shape to be doing like 100 situps a day?
In other words, if you have abdomenal fat and start doing sit ups and crunches will you lose the fat or just build muscle below it?
Thanks!

Re: Sit ups
My guess is anyone could just do 100 sit ups everyday but you won't lose fat; you will just build muscle below. Unfortunately, you can't spot reduce.
To lose fat overall, you have eat a GOOD diet and do strength training and cardio.

Re: Sit ups
you will build muscle below it - which will actually make your stomach look bigger- you need to do cardio, diet and weight train
running is actually the best cardio for your abs

Re: Sit ups
Doing crunches will make your abs stronger, but will not get rid of the fat covering the muscle. Only a combination of exercise and a healthy diet can do this.

I definitely agree that running is the best cardio for abs. If you run alot and watch your diet and try to do ab exercises you will definitely see results.

Re: Sit ups
Not exactly answering your question....but I just read somewhere that 35 crunches a day are sufficient to tone your stomach muscles - and if you can do more than that, you're probably not doing them right. Interesting....although I'm not sure if I agree with it 100%
