Fake tree
we can't have a tree in our house upstate unless it's fake b/c we are not there all the time.
I am really upset about this, as I've ALWAYS had a real tree.
we decorate our fir tree that is outside our house, so that I guess is our "real" one, but the tree we stack my boy's gifts under won't be.
I REALLY dont' want a green tree. if it has to be fake, I want it to BE fake...not trying to be real, you know.
what kind of tree would you get? and where would you get it from? I am lost with these things.

Like a pink tinsel tree?  I have a mini one of those for my desk.
I actually like white fake trees.
Are you going to be at the house for Christmas? You could always go the German route & get a tree on Christams Eve.
Or you could try a tree watering system, depending on how many days maximum you will leave the tree.

i was just in babylon and saw a white tree with those silly LED lights that look blue... it looked awesome! all it had on it was red bows.
i suggest white.
or... they sell the "charlie brown christmas tree" with one ball and all..

If I couldn't do a real tree I would do a fake white/tinsel tree with all robins egg blue decorations. Kind of mod/retro.

If you are going to be there off and on through december, i'd like a small fake one and for christmas eve/christmas buy a real one somewhere (already cut) and decorate it on christmas, its so much fun to decorate on the actual holiday.
