Spinoff: Which of your pets are YOU closest to?
i would have to say Dharma.
my reasons:
-she was adopted and confused when i got her so i wanted to let her know i would never leave her
-she's hairless and therefore different looking and so i have to defend her ALOT
-luk & tink are best buds and dharmas like the 3rd wheel, so im her best bud
-she requires such special needs, so i tend to her alot
*i love all my dogs the same, im just saying im closest to her
it was automatic the day she came off the plane.

It actually changes depends on what is going on.
When I met the rescuer at Pet Land, I originally just wanted Eddie, our orange cat. He was the cutest, most affectionate kitten. We ended up with Lydia almost like an afterthought, b/c she was the last of the litter and we couldn't bear to separate them.
So in the begining, I had more affection for Eddie. He was outgoing and so cuddly. Lydia wasn't that way at all- she was terrified of everything and everyone for a long time. She used to flinch when one of reached for her. It took a while for her to warm up to us.
They were separated breifly this summer, while she was in the vets office for tests. turns out she has a slight kidney problem. when she got home, Eddie was SO mean to her. He'd hiss and take a swipe at her. So for a week, she stayed in our bedroom until he stopped freaking out . During that time, we really bonded. i swear, she was depressed that Eddie was acting stupid. I gave her endless attention and affection and she has been a little different with me since then. Like she finally realized how much we love her, or something.

Scout!!! because Gunnar hates me and anytime I try to pet him he tries to bite me.
Scout, on the other hand, is super-sweet to me, and loves when I pet her!!!

I love all my babies, but Sonic is my special little boy. He is so attached to me that he follows me everywhere and has to sleep with me on the bed.. if he doesn't sleep with me at night, he will literately cry/bark all night long.
When I am on biz trips, he doesn't care if FH brings him on the bed or not
