Can I just get a snap and go and call it a day?

All these stroller posts have my head spinning.
I am terrible with this stuff.
I don't even think I can open or fold one of those things up.

Here is my question though.

We have a small house- VERY limited storage space.

Can I get away with one of those snap and go things in the beggining- where i can just snap the car seat in and use that to wheel the baby around?

Do I need another stroller?

this is what i am getting for the beginning.. the double snap and go.
then when they grow out of it we will look for a regular stroller then. its not a bad price for the snap and go too.

I only used the snap & go. i started using the regular metrolite stroller when she was around 8 months b/c she was too heavy to pick up in the seat anymore. Plus, she liked sitting upright and looking at everything.

I never bought one of those travel systems and I am so glad b/c I never would have used it.

Me too. Snap an Go is good for several months. Once they outgrow that, then you can get another one.

Absolutely. I only used the Snap & Go till DS was 6 mos and grew out of it.

Re: Can I just get a snap and go and call it a day?

I struggled with getting a stroller for different reasons. People were telling me not to bother since it would be cold out (DS was born in October) and that I didn't need it right away. Then the one I wanted was sold out bc the new colors were going to come out in Dec/Jan AND Peg was dropping the price by $100 so people on the boards suggested I get a snap and go and it has been great! It was about $60 and I used it to take DS out for walks. It has storage on the bottom if i needed it. It has worked out wonderfully. I'll get him a stroller in March/April when we start going outside again. Do it, you won't regret it. It's a great solution in the beginning.

I used the snap and go until DD was to heavy for the infant carseat. Around 6 months. Go for it!

Re: Can I just get a snap and go and call it a day?

I would say it depends on how much the baby will be in the car seat snapped in b/c studies show that sleeping/being in the car seat for long periods decreases oxygen levels. If you are going to use it a ton I think I would get a stroller w/ the bassinet.

I have 2 kids and as long as the baby is in the infant seat carrier--the snap n gp is all you need for now

I would use it and then when the baby gets bigger buy a Maclaren

Yes you can absolutely do this! You won't need a "real" stroller until your DC is older and doesn't fit in the infant carrier anymore.

That's what we did and I already had another (big) stroller - it was at the babysitter's house. My DD was big and I still was able to use it for 6 months.

This is awesome- thanks ladies!
I was hoping to hear feedback like this!
We are working with such limited storage space in our home that I need to keep everything as simple as possible for now....

Re: Can I just get a snap and go and call it a day?

My DD is 11 months old this week.

I am STILL using the snap and go, more than a regular stroller. I use it for quick trips to the supermarket, of course she is at the age now where I can put her in the cart, but if it's for a quick trip, I just pop her in the snap and go.

We got the snap and go for my DD and an umbrella stroller. We never use the umbrella stroller. My DD is just about 7 months now and i still love the snap and go. I would definitly go for it and when your ready and your child is old enough you can go to the store and try it out with your baby in the stroller to see which one you truly like best!

This is what I did. I spoke with a lot of BTDT mommies (friends) and all they used was the Snap and Go - it doesn't take up a lot of space in the house and in the trunk of the car.

Re: Can I just get a snap and go and call it a day?

I used the snap and go exclusively for the first 4 months. I only just now put him a regular stroller because he likes to sit up and look around - doesn't like being confined to the carseat anymore. IMO the travel systems are a waste. I only used my big stroller from the travel system 3 times and now I am trying to sell it!

Re: Can I just get a snap and go and call it a day?

I'm going to say NO. It could only last you 4 months. I'd be sure to get an umbrella stroller too.

My DS is 5 mos today and is totally out of his infant carrier for the past month. And he will not lay down in the stroller either - he needs to be up and looking around. We love our maclaren. i think we have the quest sport
