Ok it's real now
Today was my 8 week sono and the heartbeat was no longer there and our little one stopped growing... I was hopeful but feel like I knew this was how it would end!
Through the tears I can't believe I was actually trying to decide when and if do the dandC. It looks like I am going in tomorrow at 7am so I don't have to wait till after new years!
I am beyond scared. I know everyone is looking forward to ringing in 2010. Please tell me what to expect tomorrow and how to get through the next 24 hrs.
Thanks for everything! Rebecca

Re: Ok it's real now
I am so sorry Rebecca.
I sent you FM!
I have never had a D&C. I know many of the girls on the board can share their experience with you. I know many have mentioned that it is fairly simple and little pain. I know it is scary but after the D&C you will be able to move on. Each day you will def get stronger and start to heal.
Lot's of HUGS for tomorrow.

Re: Ok it's real now
i am so so so sorry for your loss i had to have a D&C at 12 weeks pregnant and the physical aspect was not bad at all. usually they put you to sleep for it, so you will not even remember it. after, you will have some bleeding. mine was heavy at first and then by the next day it was nothing more than a regular period.
if you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask! please do not be scared of the D&C--you will be ok! i pray that you and your DH will heal emotionally in time

Re: Ok it's real now
Sadly I found out the same information Monday and had my D and C Tuesday. It was devasting to see no heartbeat any longer. My heart goes out to you.
If you need to chat just FM me...
Trust your doctor. The proceedure is very quick and you will be home before you know it. Just relax and make sure someone will be with you the next few days. The support really has helped me.
Don't do too much, make sure you rest.

Re: Ok it's real now
Im so sorry this is happening. I hate to agree with everyone else but yea I had a D & E at 19 wks and it was in and out and really simple on your body, emotionally not so much. You will be fine., and you will feel fine within minutes youll walk right out of there and feel better.
If I were you with all the celebration today I would just go home and sleep it off. Its hard but you will make it through it

Re: Ok it's real now
Im so sorry I know exactly how you feel. During my first pregnancy we saw a faint HB at 7 weeks. I had to wait a whole week after that to go back and see if the baby had continued to grow. Even though I knew it was over, it didnt really hit me until they absolutely confirmed there was no HB and no growth.
With the second one that just happened, Im still in denial and I had the d&c over a week ago
If you have any questions about what to expect after the d&c please feel free to FM me Initially you will feel a little crampy and there will be some bleeding. For me, both times, after 5 days, the bleeding and cramping got heavy but then tapered off. I had my second d&c last Tuesday and Im barely bleeding anymore.
Im so sorry you are going through this I hope the beginning of the new year can offer you some peace.

Re: Ok it's real now
I'm so sorry . I didn't have a D&C so I can't really help with any questions you have with that. I hope everything goes well, and I pray the new year brings you peace, and happiness
