Honor: Red Sings from Treetops: A Year in Colors and All the World (I haven't seen either of these books - I'm a bit disappointed with some of the books left off - 14 Cows for America (I was sure this would have won with the earthquake), Tsunami, Mermaid Queen, Gertrude is Gertrude, Curious Garden - there were so many great books this year!)

newbery: When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead a good pick!

honor: Evolution of Calpurnia Tate, Jacqueline Kelly (this would have been my pick)
