Mammo's

I was wondering did anyone get a call back about their mammo's??? Do they only call back if it's bad?Or do they call back either way? I wasn't home yesterday and I got a call, I have to admit i'm scared in calling back! Thanks. My mom went with me around the same time and she didn't get a call back! Thanks. I might be making a "Big" deal out of nothing but i figure i ask you ladies to see if i am.Thanks again. This is my second one ever, I turned 40 in september.

Updated1: I have to go in today for additional pictures on the right side they say my girls are dense, And i also have to have an ultrasound done.. I'm going at 1:15pm this afternoon! Pray all is well! Thanks

I go to Good Sam and they usually tell you right on the spot that's it's clear and then they also follow up with a letter. My doctor also calls me with their report.

They may just want you to come back in so that they can take more pictures. I have been sent back out into the waiting room and called back in several times because the doctor that is reading it there wants to see "more magnification". It's extremely nerve wracking. They always tell me that they just want to be extremely thorough -- which is fine with me.

same thing happened to me Ro, and I was so scared...

Turns out I have "dense breasts" (go figure ) and I needed to have a sonogram done to double check everything

All turned out to be ok, I just have to have it done again in 6 months

As previous posters have said, it may be that they need to take more views or want you to have a sonogram. They called me back in for more pics this time but everything was fine. It is very nerve wracking though. Good luck.

I get a letter in a week.

Digital mammo is not read immediately at most radiology practices. If there is an issue your doc would be notified and/or you could be called back for more views.
