My DC's pediatrician went to Haiti to help
While I am happy he is helping out all the ones that need the help....i cant help but be upset that he isnt here when my kids need him. Im being selfish....i know.

I'm sure he left coverage in his office while he was away though. There isn't anyone else there who could help you?

do we have the same ped? mine left today...
If it is the same dr, he has coverage for his practice. His nurse practitioner is there, and a group of pediatricians are helping out in his absence.

is yours Hitner? I know they have coverage, but Im neurotic and like to see him when I have concerns about DC. Im actually happy he is helping.

Yup. He's a good friend of ours. I'm not worried about my kids, I'm worried about him. He got the call on Saturday that he was leaving today - crazy!

As a parent who uses Hitner for a peditrican I think it's wonderful that he's doing this.
It just further proves what a caring and great doctor he really is.
Actions like this is exactly why I chose him in the first place.
I wish him a safe and productive trip.

I use Dr Hitner also and have been to the covering Dr several times since my kids always get sick on his day off. I was really happy with Dr Apun and have used the NP at Dr Hitner's office too and like her.

I don't use him, but I thinks its beautiful that he is doing this. The idea of the children suffering there is so heartbreaking and that this Dr is generously donating his skill and time is wonderful.
