I feel so confused this cycle....

I usually get at least 2 days of surges on the OPK. Cycle 1-surge on CD13,CD14. Cycle 2-surge on CD14, CD15. This month I didn't surge until CD15 and today CD16 no surge, but close. I have been temping but my wake time varies since I have a little one. I haven't had a rise in temp yet. We BD'd yesterday at @10:30am and will tonight. So I assume I haven't O'd yet. Once you do O, the egg lives more 12-24 hours correct? I don't think we'll be able to BD tomorrow. I hope we get in enough. Sorry I am going on...just looking for some insight. TIA.Chat Icon

Ovulation can definitely vary from cycle to cycle.

The egg lives about 12-24 hours...but sperm can live for a few days if there is adequate cervical mucus ....so as long as you are bding prior to O, you have a great chance.

Thank you Redstar! So if you BD within 12-24 hours after ovulation you can still get pg right? Thanks.

yes, but your chances are much lower. The days leading TO O are your most fertile days.

I think I dont understand your questions though...you wrote this month I got a surge on CD15 and then none on CD16.... Thats good no? You should only get one GOOD day of a clear +.

ETA- some months my temp didnt go up till about 2dpo , and my O was being monitored so I was fairly certain I did. It can take up to 48 hours to see the temp spike in some people.
