HS Science Teachers
I was given an AIS science class this year, why, i don't know, but I got it (I don't teach science nor am I certified to).
My class of 9 students are a mix of bio and earth science, and all 9 are of the opinion that since it's a pass fail class, they don't need to do anything, because it doesn't matter.
Any one have any ideas of how to combat this? I was told that they should be working on HW, which they don't get everyday. A lot of HW is on the computer, and I have one in the room, so they have to wait.
I prepared packets of stuff for them to do, (none of which gets done), provided regents for practice (same), scavenger hunts for the reference tables, (again same), and am now at my wits end.
I've spoken to their teachers, asked for extra work, but was again told "have them do their hw". well that's great, then give them some!
Any ideas?
