Cactus Academy

Anyone ever been?

I'm tempted to try and save some $$ and give a student a try with the instructor overseeing him/her of course.

I'm looking for highlights.

Re: Cactus Academy

I went and got a pretty good haircut. I think it was 12 dollars. However, I was there for about three hours and getting very antsy. It was around lunch time and I was hungry. Try it, but be prepared to be there for a long time.

Re: Cactus Academy

No - but since you work in NYC, I highly recommend going to Frederic Fekkai training night. You will be there for hours but that's how I got hooked on going there for years. And when I went on a regular basis, I did not pay much more than I pay now on LI.

hmmm..hours? I already have ants in my pants for the 2 hours I spend now.

I will certainly think about it. Gotta save some moolah.

Re: Cactus Academy

I have been going there since it opened. I got pretty good cuts and fantastic color for mos. then I had someone different and she f***ed up. It's way too short. You get what u pay for, kwim. I need to save money b/c we just had DC#2 and I'm staying home for now. Just be prepared. they are students and the instructor only comes by periodically. And it does take hours so be prepared. The instructor did everything she could to fix it for me and it will grow back so as long as you have an it's only hair attitude you will be fine. some people are not layed back enough for a hair school cut or color

Re: Cactus Academy

I am thinking of trying it out. Can you make an appointment? Or you just go and its first come, first serve?
