30!! Woohoo - you should get a fantastic fertilization report tomorrow. Make sure you take care and stay in tune with your body to make sure you're on top of possible OHSS. So glad to hear ER is complete! Keep us posted!

11 fertilized is great!!!! Try and be positive b/c you very well may end up with some to freeze. Please try and not worry...I had 16 retrieved...15 mature....8 fertilized and none to freeze. But that was the cycle that worked for us

thank you so much everyone, you made me feel so much better about all of this
i am definitely trying to be more positive - 10 out of the 11 made it to the cellular stage today. they did the embryo biopsy today so a few more days and i will see how many make it!
I have resigned myself to the fact that i will probably have none to freeze, and that's ok. if i do for some reason, then i can be pleasantly surprised!
thanks for all of the well wishes and all of the prayers and hope - they mean so so much to me

Hey,
I am sorry you were disappointed by your fert report. I had the same experience. I have PCO and throughout my cycles we have been trying so hard to prevent tons of eggs so I figured when I did IVF it woulld be great. They retrieved 21 eggs and the RE said I woud definitely have enough for a Day 5 transfer and should have some to freeze. I thought at least 75% would fertilize since we were doing ICSI. I ended up with 11. Now, that is a great number, but I was so set on having so many that I was really torn up about. Day of my tranfser I had 2 blasts but none to freeze, I was bummed. However, I did get a BFP anyway. Just take it one step at a time - the goal is to have 1-2 eggs to tranfser, anything over that is gravy. I am sending tons of and your way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, i was SO EXCITED to hear about your BFP! CONGRATULATIONS!!
And you're 100% right - i started off with a high FSH so I didnt expect to produce half as many eggs as i did produce. So, going into it, i thought i would get around 15 if i were lucky. but, when i got 30, i got my hopes up and i thought i would have so many more to deal with. I gues i was just initially disappointed but now that i have had time to think about it, and i have read everything that everyone has written to me, i am happy with the 10 that i now have and i am just praying so hard that i get two healthy ones to put back on Saturday!
Thank you for your story - it definitely helps put things in perspective and you're right - i have to start taking things one day at a time rather than planning days and days in advance!
