How much money do you think is spent on ...
everything that is needed for a baby (crib, car seat, etc). EVERYTHING. Just looking for an estimate. Not things you "want".. things you MUST HAVE.

This can vary greatly. Some people buy cribs that are $200 others buy ones for $1000 or more. If you are looking to save money, try looking at places like once upon a child and garage sales for good quality second hand goods like bouncy seats ect.

I'd suggest buying the book Baby Bargains. They give you a really good outline of what you need, what you don't and where you can find the best prices.

It depends on where you shop and what you buy. I didn't expect furniture to cost over $1k, but ended up spending over $3k for 4 pieces! It really depends on where you shop and what kind of deals you can get.

It really depends on how much you want to spend. We bought our nursery furniture (actually my ILs bought it for us) at Baby Depot and we saved a couple of hundred dollars than if we bought it at BRU or BBB.
We have a 2 bedroom apt and not a ton of storage space so we didn't buy a ton of stuff. We prob still spent close to $1K.
