When to Call Doctor

So, I am almost sick of hearing myself talk about this topic, but it is making me crazy.

I am 6W4D. On Wednesday, I had an U/S and saw the heartbeat and eveything looked good. I told the doctor that I have been brown spotting for about two weeks and he didn't seem concerned. Now, from everything I have heard, as long as it is brown blood it is okay, but red blood can be something bad. So today, I noticed that the blood turned from being dark brown (almost blackish) to being more like maroon (in another words...not bright red, but certainly redder than it has been). Sorry for the TMIChat Icon It doesn't come out in gushes, only when I wipe and not ever time I wipe.

My next appointment is two weeks from today. Any thoughts on this or your experiences?

I think you need to do whatever makes you feel more at ease. I would call first thing Monday morning, unless you start cramping. He's probably not that worried b/c he saw the heartbeat. In the meantime, you should take it easy and rest.

If I were you, I would have to go in to make sure everything was okay. I wouldn't be able to calm down for those 2 weeks. Do what makes you feel comfortable.

Re: When to Call Doctor

I would call your doctor's office just to put your mind at ease and make sure you're okay. They may want to draw blood and make sure that your HcG and Progesterone levels are increasing. Most OB's offices are really accommodating that way Chat Icon .

Thank you ladies. It seemed to just be that one swipe last night and has now turned back to the dark brown color that I have experienced the past couple of weeks. I think that if it happens again, I am going to call.
